Carbon Reduction Roadmap

We are committed to group-wide operational control to ensure sustainability across all business units.

5 %

By 2030, we will reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by at least 5% per year, based on the baseline year 2022.

100 %

By 2030, we will achieve 100% renewable electricity usage in our operations.

Facility-Level Environmental Management

HIGG FEM

HIGG FEM

The HIGG Facility Environmental Module provides a comprehensive overview of environmental performance across our facilities. It assesses the management systems and operational practices used to manage energy and greenhouse gas emissions, water, wastewater,  air emissions, waste, and chemicals.

Syloon uses HIGG FEM to evaluate current performance, identify improvement priorities, and track progress over time. Our published Higg Index score improved from 36 in 2021 to 52 in 2024, reflecting continued progress in facility-level environmental management. Higg FEM findings provide a structured foundation for the environmental actions outlined below, helping us strengthen data quality, improve daily operations, and communicate progress more clearly with customers and partners.

Environmental Management System

Environmental Management System

Our factory operates an environmental management system aligned with ISO 14001 standards, covering energy management, waste handling, pollutant discharge, resource efficiency, chemical use, and environmental compliance.

Environmental indicators are regularly monitored and reviewed through internal inspections, third-party assessments, corrective action follow-up, and employee responsibility mechanisms. By integrating environmental requirements into production, facility maintenance, supplier coordination, and daily management routines, the system supports consistent compliance control and continuous improvement.

Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Energy use and greenhouse gas emissions are tracked as part of the factory’s environmental performance management. The facility monitors Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and has established reduction targets based on a 2022 baseline.

Practical actions include solar power generation, green electricity procurement, equipment upgrades, lighting optimization, air-conditioning efficiency improvements, and process-level energy-saving initiatives. These measures help reduce carbon intensity, improve energy efficiency, and support a gradual transition toward cleaner production operations.

Water and Wastewater Management

Water and Wastewater Management

Water use is managed through metering, statistical tracking, and water-intensity monitoring, allowing the factory to better understand water consumption across production and daily operations. The facility also conducts water-risk assessment to evaluate local water resource conditions and reduce long-term operational exposure.

Production wastewater is treated through a multi-stage treatment system and reused where applicable, helping reduce freshwater demand and minimize wastewater discharge impact. This approach supports responsible water stewardship while maintaining stable and compliant production operations.

Waste Management and Recycling

Waste is managed through classified collection, controlled storage, traceable transfer, and compliant disposal procedures. The RMCC system standardizes waste sorting, packaging, collection, weighing, registration, temporary storage, and final treatment, improving visibility and accountability throughout the waste management process.

Waste streams are divided into recyclable, non-recyclable, and hazardous categories, with qualified third parties handling regulated disposal where required. By improving waste classification and recycling efficiency, the factory reduces resource loss, strengthens on-site safety, and supports more circular material management.

Chemical Management

Chemical Management

Chemical management focuses on hazardous chemical risk control, chemical inventory visibility, safer chemical use, and ZDHC-aligned management practices. The factory maintains chemical records, strengthens chemical storage and handling procedures, and promotes inventory visualization for key material factories.

Through supplier coordination, employee training, and ZDHC training certification, the factory works to improve transparency across chemical-related processes. Longer-term efforts focus on reducing hazardous chemical risks, supporting zero discharge of hazardous chemicals, and progressing toward higher ZDHC management requirements.

Air Emissions Management

Air emissions from spraying, printing, silk-screen, and related production processes are controlled through upgraded VOC treatment equipment and regular monitoring. The treatment process includes buffering, cyclone spraying, dry filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and catalytic combustion/desorption before compliant discharge.

Third-party testing is conducted to verify emission stability and regulatory compliance, while internal controls help ensure equipment remains effective during daily operation. These measures reduce air pollution risks, improve workshop environmental conditions, and support cleaner, more responsible manufacturing.
